The Imagination Library is a nationwide effort to increase childhood and family literacy by delivering a high-quality, age-appropriate book to children every single month from birth to age five. As the program’s coordinating agency for Clinton, Essex, Franklin and Hamilton counties in upstate New York, we have, since April 2013, enrolled 2,949 local children in this project. Two thousand, two hundred and seven (2,207) children are active from January through March 2016.
As one happy, participating family member put it in a recent email–“Thank you!!! The kids who have been getting them (including my grandson) love, love getting them in the mail!!!! Awesome grant!!!!!”
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is . . . FREE!
Pass the word! If you have a child under the age of five who lives in Clinton, Essex, Franklin or Hamilton counties, just call us to enroll him or her in the program. It’s simple, it’s fast and it’s grrreat! Call us at 518-564-5332 and ask for Jocelyne.
It sounds too simple to be true, but by reading regularly with your children during their preschool years, you are giving them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get.
Dolly Partons’ Imagination Library will help you read to your child. There are many reasons parents do not read to their child, but we can eliminate one of them. Every Child will have books of their very own, at no cost, thanks to Literacy Volunteers of Clinton County and Dolly Parton.
Who is eligible? Preschool children (birth until their fifth birthday) who live in either Clinton, Essex, Franklin or Hamilton counties.
How can you help? If you know of any preschool children living in one of our four counties (Clinton, Essex, Franklin or Hamilton) who are not receiving Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, tell their parents about this free program, and encourage them to call us!
Funded through the Charles R. Wood Foundation.
THANK YOU!! Every dollar helps, and none will be wasted!
